Structural Change of the Isle of Wight Pubwatch?

ONLINE DISCUSSION TODAY at 11am...

Major changes to the current Pubwatch arrangement on the Isle of Wight were discussed at the recent Island Chair meeting on Tuesday 10th April 2012.

The restructuring of Pubwatch territories was suggested as a way of improving its operational process and for the purpose of making it better organized for its present needs.

As you will already know, we currently have 10 Pubwatches on the Isle of Wight, some strong, some decisive and some a mixture of both, while others are not so well supported and could do with a helping hand for long term sustainability.

Please remember that the below proposals are not set in stone, they are simply "proposals" to help maintain the long-term future of Pubwatch on the Isle of Wight. The online discussion will no doubt bring up other ideas.

We would like you to join this special online discussion today at 11am here on the Isle of Wight Pubwatch website where you will be able to put your thoughts across and join the debate (above).

The proposals are as follows;

PROPOSAL 1
Keep the current arrangement:

Description - Carry on with all 10 Pubwatches as they are, with no changes to it's structure.

PROPOSAL 2
East Wight Pubwatch and West Wight Pubwatch
Description - Divide the Island into just two Pubwatches, East Wight and West Wight. This would create larger and more interactive pubwatch meetings and could possibly create a stronger Pubwatch community Islandwide.
East Wight Pubwatch (as it would be known) would take in East Cowes, Ryde, Bembridge, Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor.
West Wight Pubwatch would take in members from Cowes, Newport, Freshwater & Totland and Yarmouth.

PROPOSAL 3
North, South, East and West
Description - Divide the Island Pubwatches into 4 groups, perhaps a north, south, east and west with the following:
North - East Cowes, Cowes
East - Ryde, Bembridge
South - Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor
West - Freshwater & Totland, Yarmouth, Newport

Please filter this news back to your local Pubwatch groups as soon as you can so that as many as possible can participate. Thank you.
